Welcome to the online community of Holy Cross Lutheran Church!
In an age of flashy religion and fast faith, it’s hard to really know what is real. It is my sincere hope that the offerings on this site will give you just a glimpse of what we’re up to at Holy Cross. In your weaving about on the site, I hope you’ll get a taste of what we’re journeying towards here at Holy Cross. To put it simply: We’re on a mission, a path, if you will, to find the most authentic and truthful expression of life.
As a faith community of people from all walks of life, we are in agreement that Jesus is the source and core of authenticity and truth. Where the conversation then goes is something of a work of art, as we seek to commit ourselves to the life-long process of discerning how we can best demonstrate the love of Jesus in our homes, our neighborhoods, our country, and our world.
I would encourage you to, when you are curious enough or the Spirit of God nudges you, to step beyond cyberspace to experience the real, face-to-face community that is Holy Cross. It is true that we are not always welcoming, always kind, or always honest. It is true that we are frequently hypocritical. It is true that being in relationship with us can, at times, be very complex and downright messy. The glue, however, that holds this community together is not comprised of the things we don’t do well enough, but the things we do so well at times that we can’t help but remember all that we were created for and meant to do.
Hope is born in one person at a time…
Whether you venture beyond these pages to meet the “real”
community of faith at Holy Cross, or if you remain here, please know that you
are welcome. It doesn’t really matter if you come to us or if we come to you –
let’s just take the time to be in relationship with one another.
Faith in process,
John Preston Bost, Senior Pastor
