SERVE
|EX|TERNAL
It has been said that the body of Christ is called to be the hands and feet of Jesus, but more recently people outside the church are feeling more like the body of Christ has had its hands and feet amputated until all that's left is a big mouth. If there ever was a day in the church when you can talk of Jesus, but say nothing of Reaching Out, those days are, thankfully, gone.
Social justice and service to the world are central to gospel of the crucified and risen Christ. Justice is the public manifestation of the Gospel. A church that is on mission is a church partnering in God's redemptive mission in and for the world.
A church that Reaches OUT to the world must be a church that deconverts from churchianity, and transitions into the passionate pursuit of God's vision in the world. We believe that we must be gripped by the call of God to help lead and bring about change and transformation in the world.
We look for ways to bless and serve the communities right where we live as well as communities half a world away from us. We believe that at least half of our calendar space, financial resources, and organizational energy should be spent on people who are not a part of Holy Cross.
Reaching OUT to serve others is not only what transforms the lives of others; we also get transformed in the process, and this changes the world.
